INVITATION TO KATHLEEN MILLER If Edna Davey. Australian champion, ancl Kathleen Miller, of Dunedin, can be brought together during the coming season, swimming enthusiasts will witness some wonderful racing, says an Australian paper. At last week’s A.S.A. council meeting a request by the N.S.W. Ladies’ A.S.A. that an invitation to compete here next season should be extended to Miss Miller and another lady swimmer was referred to the A.S.U. Kathleen Miller last season won the New Zealand 220 and 400yds championships in 2min 52sec and 6min 11 2-ssec respectively, and has been credited with even speedier times over those distances. Miss Miller’s 220yds’ time equals Fanny Durak’s 9-year-old Australianborn best. Edna Davey’s speediest 220yds is 2 min 52 l-ssec, put up while swimming last season over 440 yards in an attempt on record. Miss Davey’s best 440yds’ time is 6min 5 l-ssec.
