OTAHUHU SOLDIERS
LADIES’ CLUB NIGHT The Otahuhu Returned Soldiers’ Social Club held a very successful ladies’ evening in the Presbyterian Hall, Otahuhu, on Wednesday, September 20. There was a good attendance of members and friends present, one and all spending a very jolly time. The evening was spent in dancing, the music being supplied by Mr. Hair, Mr. Marcroft, Mr. Rawson, Mr. Moverley, under the baton of Mr. W. Turner, and their efforts were much appreciated by the gathering. Monte Carlo waltzes were held, the successful contestants being Sergt.Major Brant and Mrs. Barrott, Mr. H. Dickey and Mrs. R. McConochie. Miss Moffatt contributed two very pleasing vocal items. Mr. T. Day, a past committeeman and very energetic worker, who lias recently entered the bonds of matrimony, was the recipient of a handsome striking clock from the club. It was presented by President Padre Set on, who wished the happy couple the best of Mr. Day suitably responded.
