ROTORUA BOROUGH
WATER AND DRAINAGE PROPOSALS The Rotorua Borough Council was informed at its last meeting that the Auckland Automobile Association was endeavouring to arrange with the Public Works Department to get the worst holes on Mamaku Road tilled in with metal and the surface graded. A special committee was set up to co-operate with residents in organising a “clean up” day. Notice of motion was given by the Mayor that the necessary steps be taken to prepare a plan to deal with stormwater and the lower portions of the borough, and a sewerage system for the part of the town not served. The council decided to support a proposal that a footbridge be erected over the railway leading from Victoria to Tutanekai Streets.
