NOT NEGLIGENT
MOTORIST GOES FREE SEQUEL TO WOMAN’S DEATH When Harry Sallery was charged at the Police Court yesterday afternoon with causing the death of Margaret Williams through negligent driving of a motor-car on August 13, the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, dismissed the charge, saying that the evidence was not sufficient to warrant him sending it to a jury. Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that defendant knocked the woman down in Patterson Street, Freeman’s Bay, and a car following his ran over her body. She died on admission to the hospital. At the inquest the coroner held that neither driver had been negligent.
