Buildings were unroofed, trees torn up and automobiles blown from the streets. In five minutes the wind reached a maximum of f!0 miles an hour. * Many were injured in damaged schools and factories. A total estimate of the damage is still impossible. The hospitals are crowded. Forty-one persons lost their lives.—A. and N.Z.
