NETS HALF-DROWN ED MAN - 4 LONDON, September 20. Fishermen trawling in Sandwich Bay felt a terrific tug at their net , accompanied by a commotion under the water. Believing that a huge fish was they hauled in swiftly , and rvere amazed to find , instead of a fish , a half-drowned Dover tradesman , named George William Mean. He was taken to hospital and recovered. His walking-stick was found ashore. Mean's first remark on opening his eyes was , “It takes a long time to drown , doesn't it?"
