HOMELESS MAN GAOLED MIDNIGHT POLICE VISIT TYANIEL KEANE was housed L/ last night to his own satisfaction, but he was in conflict with i the law. At the Police Court to-day he was j charged with being on vacant prem- j ises at 183, Hobson Street, without j lawful excuse. Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that accused had been found sleeping on j the premises at 2 o’clock this morning. There was some old clothing there, and it looked as if Keane had been sleeping in the placo for some time. The Magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt: I see he has been graded twice this year for the same kind of offence. Still, I suppose they’ve got to have some place to sleep. ! The Senior-Sergeant: There is Jasper Calder’s doss house. The Magistrate: You’ve got a month in gaol, why don’t you profit by experience and get out into the country?
