Ho bound over Harold Hubert Vincent. aged 44, of Stourcliffe Street, bagware Road, who went sun-bathing in the park “with his body uncovered,” and was, in consequence, summoned under -the park regulations. Vincent had given an undertaking to wear more clothing in future. Mr. Mead said it was probable that the people who advocated this sort of publicity also believed in the equality of the sexes;. Supposing- he (the magistrate) said “There is no harm in this go away and do it again.” The effect might be that they might have myriads of both sexes acting- in a similar way. He believed there was no seaside resort where mixed bathing was allowed unless each sex wore a garment covering the greater part of their bodies. Decent people—not prudish—would be shocked to see a man sprawling on the grass, ostentatiously, in the way Vincent had sprawled. There was nothing to prevent him carrying out his ideas under proper conditions.
