FIRE AT KAITAIA
OUTBREAK IN GARAGE TWO TRUCKS DAMAGED (From Our Own Correspondent J KAITAIA, To-day. An outbreak of fire took place in the Star Clarage. Kaitaia, Brent Mitchell and Brent proprietors, at 5 o’clock this morning. It is thought that the trouble started from a short-circuit in the ignition of a truck belonging to Mr. Geo. Shepherd. The outbreak was quickly extinguished. the townspeople turning out in full force to help. Mr Shepherd’s truck was badly damaged, also another belonging to Mr J. Moore. The latter was insured. The garage windows of plate-glass were broken and part of the flooring burned. The total damage is estimated to be about £IOO.
