JOCKEYS AND TRAINERS AUCKLAND HORSES HOLD THEIR OWN W. S. Bagby made a fine start as a free lance jockey by piloting three winners at the Avondale meeting. They were Levenside, War Officer and Gala Day. A. McCormac (Royal Doulton and Alonsoa). A. Tinker (King Lu and Waltzer), and C. Goulsbro (Royal Mint and Sir Archie) each - scored twice. The last-named rode the winning double yesterday. Other successful riders were:—C. Regan (Kararau), P. Atkins (King Smock), R. McTavish (Te Kara), H. Lee (Prodice), E. Ludlow (Town Guard), J. Mcßae (Kendal), M. Gray (Orewa) and L. G. Morris (Laughing Prince). WINNING TRAINERS Auckland trainers held their own against the visiting mentors from the Southern end of the province and other parts of the Island, capturing nine out of the 17 races decided. R. E. Brown (Ellerslie) turned out a brace of winners in War Officer and Gala Day, a performance emulated by R. B. Hines (Te Aroha) with King Lu and Waltzer. Other winning trainers were: W, H.
