"TT is on record in Hansard that £200,000 teas given to the Reform Party as election expenses,” teas a charge made at the Prime Minister's meeting at Ngaruaicahia last night. Mr. Coates (to the speaker): Of course, I know my fricni is joking. “1 am not joking," replied the man, amid laughter. Mr. Coates went on to sap that it teas incorrect to say that £200,00!) teas given to the Government for election expenses. If they said *IO,OOO, £15,000, or £5,000, they would not be believed.
