Miss Clarke was also Registrar of Births and Deaths in Melbourne, a position which was also held by her mother and sister. She also played in “Seventh Heaven.” staged to Sydney under the J. C. Williamson management. Her various literary efforts are well known, and, in conjunction with the late Mr. ISrnest Clarke, she has dramatised all her father’s works. When “For the Term jof His Natural Life” was completed. die devoted herself again to her literary ! pursuits. “Steamboat Bill,” dealing with life <>n the Mississippi River, will be Buster Keaton's next story for United Anists. The plot will allow for both amusing and exciting incidents, and those who have had an insight into the possibilities of the story declare that it will be one of the finest thinrs the frozen-faced comedian has done.
