FINES AT WHANGAREI (From Our Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, To-day. At the Whangarei Magistrate's. Court yesterday, before Mr. J. H. Salmon, 3..V1., A. H. Baa-ata, a motor salesman, of Auckland, was fined £2 for using an unregistered cycle. On a further charge of not having procured a licence, he was fined £l. the costs in each case be. ng 10s. Alfred Ebbett, also an Auckland motor salesrsun, did not appear to answer similar charges. Fines as above were imposed. W. L. Brow n was convicted and fined £2 and costs 10s for speeding along Maunu Road. S. Hoey, for a simiiar offence, was also fined £2 and 10s costs. Neil Galpiri, for riding a motor-cycle without lights, was fined £1 and costs 10s. Richard M organ. Walter Weir and William Fleming, for riding bicycles on the footpath in Anzac Road, were each fined 10a and costs ss. Henry Penny. Chas. Swanberg and Fred. J. Payne were each fined £ 1 and costs for cutting the Walton Street corner. Charles Wright admitted having left a motor-lorry on a busy corner so as to cause an obstruction. He was fined 10s and 12s costs. Samuel Hoey was caught rounding Carruth's corner at 30 miles per hour on his racing motor-cycle. He was fined £2 and 10s costs.
