THOUSANDS SLEEP ON BEACH Reed. noon. LONDON, Sunday. The Venice correspondent of the “Daily News” says there was tremendous disappointment at the postponement of the Schneider Cup race. It is estimated that 250,000 had assembled to witness the race. The conditions were Impossible, the worst sea in 30 years making ascent and descent very dangerous. It is pointed out that the seaplanes cannot land at less than 80 or 90 miles an hour, which is difficult even in smooth water. Venice is crowded out. Thousands are sleeping on the famous Lido beach, where the race starts and finishes.— Sun.
