Sutherland has been made a life member of the Fire Brigades’ Association. The Prime Minister, the Right Hon. J. G. Coates, travelled as far as Frank - ton Junction on the Limited this morning. Mr. Charles Rhodes, who as district governor has been on a visit to Timaru and Gore, to form new branches of the Rotary Club, returned to Auckland yesterday. Mr. E. Esdaile. managing director of the Grosvenor Art and Publicity Co., Ltd., returned to Auckland this morning by the Niagara after a business visit to Sydney. Mr. Fred McCrea, the well-known impressario, arrived in Auckland today with M. Ignaz Friedman. He will return to Sydney from Auckland by the Maheno on Friday. The president, Mr. Lamb, and the secretary, Mr. Turbott, of the Auckland Head Masters’ Association, and 28 head masters, were the guests of the Rotary Club’s luncheon to-day.
