Ur. J. Marsden Caughey returned from England by the Mataroa this afternoon. Bishop Liston, who has been visitleg Christchurch, returned to Auckland yesterday morning. Mr. P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner, returned to Auckland by the Limited yesterda.y morning. “Mr. W. G. de Gruchy, who has been paying a business visit to Sydney, returned to New Zealand by the Niagara to-day. Mr. D. D. O’Connor, who is conductin;? Madame Frances Alda's tour, retamed from the Sbuth yesterday morning. Mr. John Fuller, who was in Auckland a few weeks ago, is now in New York. He will return to London, according to cabled advices, next week. Sir Benjamin Fuller, who a.rrived in Auckland this morning from Sydney by the Niagara, will leave for Wellington tills evening. Messrs. N. A. McKenzie, E. McKenzie and W. A. Guy, the All Black selectors, left Auckland last evening for Palmerston North. After 35 years’ service on the; Onehunga Fire Brigade, Mr. K. V. Sutherland has been made a life member of the Fire Brigades’ Association. The Prime Minister, the Right Hon. J. G. Coates, travelled as far as Frank - ton Junction on the Limited this morning. Mr. Charles Rhodes, who as district governor has been on a visit to Timaru and Gore, to form new branches of the Rotary Club, returned to Auckland yesterday. Mr. E. Esdaile. managing director of the Grosvenor Art and Publicity Co., Ltd., returned to Auckland this morning by the Niagara after a business visit to Sydney. Mr. Fred McCrea, the well-known impressario, arrived in Auckland today with M. Ignaz Friedman. He will return to Sydney from Auckland by the Maheno on Friday. The president, Mr. Lamb, and the secretary, Mr. Turbott, of the Auckland Head Masters’ Association, and 28 head masters, were the guests of the Rotary Club’s luncheon to-day. E. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, arrived at Pukekolie by the Limited this morning to take part in the Raglan election campaign. He was accompanied by Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P. Sir Victor Wilson, ex-Minister for Markets and Migration in the Bruce Ministry, who arrived in Auckland today by the Niagara on his first visit to New Zealand, will leave for Wellingtor later in the week.
