Titirarigi Thefts.—The value of the cigarettes and tobacco stolen from Mr. W. A. Bishop’s store at Titirangi on Friday night was about £25. Stamps and coppers to the value of about £5 were stolen from the post office, which is included in the store. Car and Lorry Collide. —A motor-car driven by Mr. Brian Bennett, of Hoyes Motors Ltd., and a lorry driven by Hop Sam, of Panmure, collided at the corner of Panmure and Avenue Roads, Otahuhu, yesterday afternoon. NTo one was injured, although both vehicles were damaged. Injured Pedestrian Improving.—An improvement, in the condition of Mr. G. Pocock, of 71 Brighton Road. Panmure, who was knocked down by a motor-car in Great South Road on Friday, was reported by the hospital authorities this morning. Mr. Pocock injured his left shoulder. S:. Andrew’s Society.—The St. Andrew’s Society held a successful social in the Town Hall concert chamber on Saturday evening. Items were given by Mrs. J. Ra.ftray. Misses P. McLeod, M. Anderson, M. McMurtrie, Messrs. A. L. McPherson and J. Cantley, and the Campbell brothers. After supper there was dancing. Rotary’s Progress.—“ The aims and rules of Rotary are as old as our civilisation, though the movement was started only 22 years ago,” said the Hon. George Fowlds, in an address at the Rotary Club’s luncheon to-day. He said that from the foundation club in Chicago the movement had spread through 43 countries and hacl 3,000 branches.
