Hawkesbury Races NEW ZEALANDERS OUT OF THE MONEY By Ca ble. — Press Association. — Copyright SYDNEY, Saturday. The Hawkesbury Racing Club's spring meeting was held yesterday. The weather was line, and the going good. In addition to the New Zealand hors«‘s mentioned below. Penman and Arikiwai took part, but not one secured even a place. Merry Mint’s run in the Spring Handicap disappointed its Derby followers. The following were the results of the leading events: HAWKESBURY SPRING HANDICAP Of £3OO- 1 mile 3 furlongs. DON PANTHER (G. Morrow), blk g, 6yrs, 7.3 1 KALLONI, 6.7 2 NIGHT HE ft ON. 7.1 2 Twelve started, including Battlement, Merry Mint, and Drawbridge. The lastnamed did the early running. Kalloni led into the straight, followed by Men 3' Mint, but Don Panther, coming fast, won by one and a-half lengths. Time, 2.25. Merry Mint finished in the ruck. FLYING HANDICAP Of £ 200. C furlongs. PIGEON PIE J. Wren), bg, 6yrs, 6.13 1 BACAGI, 7.U 2 TRAWLER, 7.1 3 Eleven started, including The Hawk and First Acre. The three placed horses and The Hawk entered the straight together. The winner then went to the front, and won a good race by a neck. Time, 1.14 J. RANDWICK TRAINING NOTES Training operations at Rantlwick on Saturday mormng were held on the course proper, with the hurdles 90 feet out. the going being good. White Fang went nicely, and beat Salino over eight furlongs in 1.45&. He finished well. Commendation spurted the last two furlongs of a working gallop in 25*sec. Cavnpore and Aorangi ran four furlongs in 52|sec. Gothic covered five furlongs well in 1.4 h. Amounis led Coin Nut by 10 lengths at the end of eight furlongs, run in 1.4« J. Winalot beat The Thorn over seven furlongs in 1.331. Passin’ Through covered eight furlongs in 1.50. Limerick covered a round on the tan at a strong half-pace. Perle de Leon has been scratched for all engagements at the Australian Jockey Club’s spring meeting.
