SCHOOL INSPECTORS FOR AUCKLAND
TWO APPOINTMENTS MADE Mr. B. N. T. Blake, M.A., of Thorndon Normal School, and Mr. C. JGumming. M.A., of the Miramar Soutk School, have been appointed inspector* for the Auckland education district replacing two temporary officers. The Auckland Education Board has been advised that efforts will be mad* to permit of*the new inspectors taking up their duties about the middle o2 October. Most of Mr. Blake’s experience of 21 years in the teaching profession ha* been in the service of the Wellington Education Board. He has filled* among other positions, that of first assistant at the Mount Cook Bov*' School, Wellington, and first assistant at Kelburn Normal School. He wa« relieving headmaster at Kelburn fo.* a time and three years ago took charge of Thorndon Normal School-. Mr. Blake was a prominent mem be' of the Teachers’ Educational Institutes of which he was president last year* and was also representative of tho teachers of the Dominion on tin*Teachers’ Appeal Board for many years. Mr. Gumming was trained in Nev South Wales and took an extended course in agriculture at Hawkesb r* College, New South Wales, before being engaged by the Wellington Education Board. For a number of yfar* he was agricultural organiser with headquarters at Masterton. Mr. Cumming was headmaster of the WaipawA District High School and went fron* there to Miramar South School t«» occupy a similar position.
