DEVONPORT EXAMPLE Devonport Orphan Club in planning its own jollity remembers that there are many who have but a scanty share of this world’s pleasures and at each session night a “pence box” is exhibited with an exhortation to have a kindly thought for the less fortunate. For the 1927 session just closed the “box” was the means of collecting £l6 ss. O.n Saturday night the Rev. Jefferies, of the Presbyterian Orphanages, attended to receive the gift, for which he expressed deep gratitude.
