AUCKLAND BEATS WAIKATO An excellent display of schools’ League was staged as a curtain-raiser to the big - game at Carlaw Park L r'.o'r Auckland defeating Waikato by 6 points to 0. Forder scored the first try for the winners after a good rush by the Auckland forwards. A great run by Matson clinched the victory for Auckland, and although the visitors made a game effort to score on several occasions. they were unable to cross the Auckland line. For the winners. Matson, Anderson, Hicks, and Ramsay were outstanding, and Catlev, Whitaker, Cross, ton, McNie, and Morgan played wen for the losers.
