IGNAZ FRIEDMAN
ALL CHOPIN PROGRAMME Ignaz Friedman was unhesitatingly alluded to by Dame Nellie Melba during his recent visit to Australia, as
“one of the world’s greatest living artists.” There is probably no better known exponent of Chopin living today.
The famous pianist will arrive in Auckland on Monday by the Niagara. One farewell concert will be given in this city. As the Town Hall is engaged Mr. Friedman will play in the concert chamber.
It is particularly gratifying to know that Mr. Friedman’s final concert in New Zealand will be an “all Chopin” programme. The pianist resumes his journey to America next day. The items he proposes to play will include (a) Three Preludes, (b) Nocturne in B Major, (c) Valse, C Sharp Minor, (d) Ballade, F. Minor; Sonata B Flat Minor; (a) Two Mazurkas, (b) Impromptu, F. Sharp Minor, (c) Two Etudes (Chromatic and Revolutionary), (d) Andante Spianato and Polonaise in E Flat.
The box plans are now open at Lewis R. Eady and Son.
