NOMINATIONS FOR OCTOBER 1 Nominations for the point-to-point races to be conducted by the Pakuranga Hunt at Papatoetoe on Saturday, October 1, are:— MEMBERS’ LIGHT-WEIGHT RACE, about 3 miles; weight 11.0.—Te Akau, Buckshee, Molly, Lady Belle, Tamaki Boy. Master Sol, The Gunner, Praiseworthy, Paddy, Whetuhine, Lady Chester, All Black. MEMBERS’ HEAVY-WEIGHT RACE, about 3 miles; weight, 12.7.—Heather Belle, Rawhiri, Salvaboy, Monte, Longrein, Ardna-lea. FARMERS’ RACE, about 3 miles; weight 11.7. Open to horses owned by farmers over whose land the Hunt has permission to hunt.—Rawhiri, Edifice, Tamaki Boy, Scotty, Master Sol, Hauturu, Scout, Miss Gladfield. INVITATION RACE, about 3 miles; weight, 12.0; open to horses owned and ridden by members of any duly registered Hunt Club. —Salvaboy, Buckshee, Lady Belle, Motto, Vermont, Stonewall. Bing Boy, Longrein. LADIES' RACE, about 2 miles, for lady members only; weight, 9.7.—M011y, Paddy, Longrein, Bridget, Vixen, Lady Chester. OPEN POINT-TO-POINT RACE, about 3 miles; weight, 11.0.—Rawhiri, Te Akau, Salvaboy, Edifice, Molly, Lady Belle, Tamaki Boy, Scotty, Motto, Vermont, Master Sol, Stonewall, Bing Boy. Hauturu, Longrein, Ard-na-lea, Whetuhine, All Black, Scout, Miss Gladfield. Dean Dillon At Perth Early in September the pacing gelding Dean won the principal race at Perth. Hetvas driven by W. Kelsey. The stewards have opened an inquiry into the horse’s recent performances, and this has not yet been concluded. Petronius in Trouble The well-bred gelding Petronius, by Nelson Bingen from Cameos, got mixed up in a fence recently. He is all right again and is ready to start work. Petronius is a half-brother to Onyx.
