The president, Mr. N. B. J. Dougherty, presided over the annual general meeting of the Ohura Agricultural, Horticultural, Pastoral and Industrial Association, at which there was an excellent attendance of members. The balance sheet showed a profit of £37 19s 6d, subject to a further possible liability of £lO. The bank account showed a credit of £214. The balance sheet was adopted on the motion of Messrs. Bruce and Dench.

Mr. Rhynd gave notice of his intention to move, at the next annual meeting, that rule number 15 of the association’s regulations be rescinded. The retiring president recommended the following suggested improvements for the new committee’s consideration: Limiting the number of rams submitted for sale at the ram fair to, say, 150, and give local breeders a better chance to effect sales: reduction of entry fee for rams, and the claiming of half the auctioneer’s commission; drawing of lots for order of sale; provision of a challenge cup for the industrial shed; encouragement of sideshows; increased propaganda in connection with the annual show and ram fair.
