Kuranui Call to Shareholders.—Directors of the Kuranui have declared a further call (the 10th) of Id a share, payable on October 14.

Meat From South America.—The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received a cable from its representative at Buenos Aires, South America, advising the following shipments to the United Kingdom for the fortnight ended September 15, 1927, from Argentine and Uruguay:—l9s,2B9 quarters chilled beef; 10,063 quarters frozen beef; 6,910 carcases frozen mutton; 31,904 carcases frozen lamb. The quantity shipped to the Continent of Europe during the same period was as f0110w5:—160,270 quarters frozen beef; 7,400 carcases frozen mutton.

Frozen Meat in Loncron. —Under date September 22, the London office of Dalgety and Co. cabled as follows: Frozen . Meat: New Zealand prime Canterbury lamb, 281 b to 361 b, 9|d; North Island, 9£d; Canterbury, 361 b to 421 b, Bgd; North Island, Bgd; Canterbury, second quality, 8gd;: North Island, 9d; Canterbury, 421 b to 501 b, B§d; North Island, Bgd. The market for New Zealand lamb is firmer. The demand has been checked by the increased prices asked. Prime Canterbury mutton, 481 b to 561 b, 7gd; North Island, 6§d; Canterbury, 561 b to 641 b, 6§d; North Island, 51d; Canterbury, 641 b to 721 b, sgd, North Island, sgd; Canterbury ewes, 4Slb to 541 b, s£d; North Island, s!d. The market for New Zealand mutton is firmer. The demand has not been improved by the change in prices. Beef: Argentine chilled, hinds, 6£d, fores, 3|d. Pork: English pork, 9d to lOd; New Zealand porkers, 801 b to 1001 b. 9d, 1001 b to 1201 b, Sd; New Zealand baconers, 1201 b to 1701 b, 6£d; 1701 b and over, 6d.
