Beauty Prepares For Spring

Plucked Eyebrows and the Changing Haircut ’With the prospect of spring arriving sometime soon, and the host of social occasions it will bring, the beauts salons are exceptionally busy. Foi beauty must be creamed and massaged

her hair, eyes and eyebrows must receive attention. THE “NATURAL” COMPLEXION “Make-up” to-day must be applied more carefully than ever, for it is no longer fashionable to be blatantly artificial. Before any function of great importance it is usual to enlist the services of some well-known beauty specialist who gives her “patient” several treatments before the important day, so that when it arrives her complexion. will be so perfect that she will need but little artificial aid. A TURKISH BATH First the face is treated to what one might term a facial Turkish bath. Hot flannels are wrung out and applied to the skin, which is then creamed and massaged till it is soft, smooth and delicately pink. After two or three such treatments only a slight dusting of powder is required, and the patient can feel assured that her complexion will look as clear and transparent as only a natural complexion can. The eyebrows, too, must receive their share of attention. The line must be very fine and delicately pencilled. The eyebrow specialist plucks and shapes the brows till they are reduced to the

thin lines which are so much coveted And what a difference it makes to the whole face! An eyebrow treatment is not an expensive proposition, and it does much to improve the beauty of the face. Very closely-cropped hair will not be worn by the really chic woman this season. The hair is worn rather on the long side, and is carefully trimmed to follow the shape of the head. This is a far more becoming style for the woman who is no longer in the first flush of youth, as it prevents that hard line at the nape of the neck, which is always so trying. If your hair suits you unwaved, then let it remain unwaved, for it will give your face distinction, and many of the best coiffeurs are trying to impress this * fact on their clients.
