A UCKLAND picture-goers will decide the final of the “Miss New Zealand 1927” contest. Miss Hildred Graham, the second Auckland representative, has put her knowledge of physical culture to such excellent purpose that every candidate for the honour of being “Miss New Zealand 1927” is in splendid fettle. The girls have visited every centre of importance in the Dominion. They have been feted and applauded, and, without exception, voted splendid examples of New Zealand girlhood. Though the tour has been a long, and somtimes arduous one —the girls have been constantly on the move since July I—theyl—they will, without exception, regret its conclusion. Nevertheless, all are looking forward to seeing Auckland. “Tell all my Auckland friends that I am longing to be back again, so that I may act for them,” is a message which Mr. Hayward has brought from “Miss Auckland.” Last night the girls were at New Plymouth. After touring Taranaki, they will come north to Whangarei. The tour will be concluded at Auckland.
