LITTLE THEATRE FOR CHILDREN
TN Chicago there is a children’s “Little Theatre,” which recently began its 11th summer season, and on the opening day scores of children trooped along to become registered as performers. They give their performances out of doors, and trained dramatic coaches help them to rehearse. The mothers of the children make the costumes, and thousands of people enjoy the performances during the “season.” It was stated on the opening day that many girls who went to the “Little Theatre” 11 years ago were now making their living in dramatic art or singing. The mothers’ club devotes itself to making costumes, caring for the children and helping them in various ways. Donald Marye, who is now director of costumes at the “Little Theatre,” began there 11 years ago, and afterwards completed a course at the Carnegie Institute of Technology.
