WHO WILL IT BE? AUCKLAND VOTE DECIDES Blazing a trail of triumphant beauty and ability, the 10 finalists in the “Miss New Zealand 1927/'’ Film 3tar Contest, have smiled their way from the Bluff, through the South Islands towns, to Wellington, and up through the North Island, on their way to Auckland. Everywhere they have been greeted with enthusiasm, entertained royally and honoured with Mayoral receptions. Public interest is gradually working to fever pitch, as the grand finale draws nearer. Who will be “Miss New Zealand” is the question on everyone's lips. Huge audiences have attended every theatre at which the 10 finalists appeared. There is no doubt that the 10 finalists are some of the Dominion's fairest daughters. Their ability is well demonstrated by the entertainment which they give. Attractive screen and stage playettes have been written specially for each one. The 10 finalists will appear at the Strand and New Regent Theatres on October 3, when Auckland’s vote will be the deciding factor as to who will be “Miss New Zealand, 1927.”

MAID OF HONOUR TO “MISS AUCKLAND” (Hildred Graham) “A charming personality and a distinctive Eton crop” partially describes Miss Hild r e d Graham. Sweet 17, a brunette, and sft 4Jin in height, Miss Graham is an enthusiastic exponent of physical culture and acrobatic dancing.

“MISS AUCKLAND” (Billie Andreassoin) “Miss Auckland” is a demure little lady, with more than the ordinary share of personality. “MISS CANTERBURY” (Leon McCall) A perfect type of Miss Leon McCalL Lovelv eyes, “nut-brown,” wa.vy hair, and a sweet expression, brought her the title of the “New Zealand Kodak Girl.” Although only 19 “M i s s Canterbury” has won 50 medals for national dancing.

“MISS SOUTHLAND’' (Winnie TonkinMiss Winnie Tonkinson hails from Bluff. She is an attractive brunette with expressize hazel eyes, and a ‘‘peaches and cream” complexion, typical of the Southern girls. Tennis, swimming and dancing are her favourite sports.

MAID OF HONOUR TO “MISS SOUTHLAND” (Morgianna Cameron) “The wilder the horse, the better I like it,” says Miss Morgie Cameron, enthusiastic ally, when asked if she can ride. One of her daring Highland ancestors must have handed down to her his love of horses, as well as his skill in the national dance.

MAID OF HONOUR TO “MISS OTAGO” (Vera Hodge) Miss Vera Hodge is a blonde with light brown hair and blue eyes; her height is sft sin, and she has survived 19 Otago winters. Tennis and music are her pastimes, and she excels at both.

“MISS OTAGO” (Dale Austen) Miss Dale Austen is above the average in both outdoor sports and feminine accomplishments, besides being a very pretty blonde. She is sft 4in in height, 16 years of age, and has beautiful blue eyes, and light brown wavy hair, semi-shingled.
