LABOUR PARTY BALL

FANCY DRESS COMPETITIONS As a combined effort of all branches of the Labour Party in Auckland the ball and whist tournament to be held in Scots Hall next Wednesday will certainly be a huge success. The party’s dances have always attracted big and sociable crowds. This function has a special claim to notice because it is a well-planned fancy dress affair, with prizes for the most fertile imaginations in various lin€*s. Awards will be made for fancy, poster, propaganda, original and comical dresses, so that some very laughable rig-c-uts are sure to be produced. At the same time plain dress is quite in order. Six cards prizes are to be given to the winners of the whist tournament:. Tickets are procurable from, partj'' branch secretaries and from the Labour Representation Committee office in the Trades Hall. At the conclusion of the evening conveyances will be waiting to transaprt patrons home.
