MT. ALBERT GRAMMAR SCHOOL STEEPLECHASE
FAST TIME RECORDED TN a time only five seconds short of the school record, J. Green came romping home in the Mount Albert Grammar School’s annual steeplechase yesterday afternoon, to register an easy win from 300 other competitors. The race which is open to all scholars and is run as a sealed handicap and championship event, was competed over a course of nearly three miles and was keenly contested. Green finished excellently arid did not appear in the least troubled by his strenuous run. His time was 16m 48s Behind him came W. A. Briggs and A. G. Campbell, second and third respectively in the open championship. The junior champion was O. Mills, whose time was 17m 495. H. S. King was second and A. W. Bellini third. The handicap results are as follows: Senior Handicap.—G. C. Holdsworth, 1; H. E. Addis, 2; G. S. Horsfall, 3. Junior Handicap.—G. C. Holdsworth, 1 H. E. Addis, 2: T. W. Wallis, 3.
