STATEMENT FOR AUGUST The statement of the Public Trust Office for the month of August shows that the amount paid out'in settlement of new loans was £312,079, making a total of £1.193,644 since the beginning of the present financial year on April 1 last. Additional new loans were granted to the amount of £140,850, making the total new loans on hand awaiting completion £667,988, while loans offered being less than the full advances applied for amount to £241,815 —a grand total of £909,803. Applications for further loans amounting to £279,888 are receiving consideration. New business continues to he very satisfactory, and the value of the estates accepted for administration during the month was £.531,554, making a total of new business since April 1 last of £2,603,015. This represents a very substantial Increase on the figures for the same period of the previous ye: r. Additional new wills deposited for safe custody numbered 530, and the total now held is 55,420.
