GOLDEN SALVE FOR BRUISES
BIG money was involved in the contest.
It was reported from Chicago last Monday that under the Rickard contract Gene Tunney was to receive a million dollars and Jack Dempsey 425,000 dollars. A later report, however, suggested that, as the total
receipts might be less than the three million dollars originally anticipated, the chances were that each contestant might not receive
quite as much money as ex pected.
