PLUNKET SOCIETY AT TE AWAMUTU Mr. F. Quin presided over the execu- i tive committee of the Te Awamutu j Plunket Society, held on Monday even- j ing. The following district conveners were appointed:—Kihikihi, Mrs. Raymond Jones; Paterangi, Mangapiko, Pirongia, Te Rore, Mrs. W. G. Macky; Te Rawa, Te Mawhai, Pokuru, Mesdames Broadbent and Melville; Hairini, Te Rahu. Puahui, Mesdame3 H. de L. Peake and A. H. Storey. A public meeting will be held on Tuesday for the purpose of receiving nominations of pairs (king and queen), with a view to selecting two pair? of babies to represent Te Awamutu, and to elect their respective committees. In order to preserve that strict neutrality essential to its character as j executive committee, and yet set energetic workers within its ranks free to further the cause of the candidates j they favour, the following resolution was passed:—“That this committee,: with the exception of the chairman, the secretary, the treasurer, the organiser, Mr. A. E. Patterson, and the ; representative of the Plunket Society, Mr. S. A. Empson, resign immediately j on the receipt of nominations.” j The price of votes was fixed at 2u each. ‘
