Ignaz Friedman
HIS RETURN VISIT A CHOPIN PROGFIAMME The announcement of a return visit from Ignaz Friedman, the eminent Polish pianist, will no doubt be warmly
welcomed by Aucklanders, particularly those who had the pleasure of hearing him on his previous visit. As a Chopin interpreter Friedman is considered by many critics to have few equals. His decision to present an all-Chopin programme at his one and only concert on Monday next should therefore add considerable interest to his reappearance. As the pianist will then be on his way to America by the Niagara, it will be possible for him to give only one recital, and as the Town Hall is not available on this date, it will be necessary to give the concert in the concert chamber. His programme will include:—Three Preludes; Nocturne in B Major; Valse, in C Sharp Minor; Ballade, F Minor; Sonata, B Flat Minor; two Mazurkas; Impromptu, F Sharp Minor; two
Ctudes (Chromatic and Revolutionary); Andante Spianato and Polonaise n E Flat.
