TANKER’S LONG VOYAGE

CROSSED LINE FOUR TIMES (Special to THE SUN.) WELLINGTON, "Wednesday. Since leaving Wellington a little over four months ago, the Union Steam Ship Company’s motor oil-tank steamer Otokia has made an unusual and notable voyage. The vessel returned to port on Monday night, after an absence of 123 days, during which period she travelled 28,161 miles. The voyage included three complete traverses of the Pacific Ocean, the circumnavigation of the South American Continent, four crossings of the equator, the passage round Cape Horn, a traverse of the whole Atlantic coast of South America, and passage through the Panama Canal. The Horn was rounded on July 10, when, according to one of the officers, the sea was smooth enough to have made the passage in a rowing boat.
