GOOD COLT BACK TO FORM
fpHEREi was no half-measures -*■ about the public support accorded ithe three-year-old colt Vestas on Saturday, and he was sent out easily the biggest favourite of the day. In fact the Derby colt carried more money than all the other seven runners together. That this wonderful confidence was justified the son of Matchlight—lmperial Fan proved beyond a shadow of a doubt. W. J. Tomkinsort early took the lead and made his own pace, with the result that he had things all his own way. Kyana was the only one to make the semblance of a challenge, but the handsome colt ignored it and went on his way to win in hollow fashion. Although only recording a tick under his handicap time, 4.49, it is difficult to say what might have happened had the pace been on in earnest. The run was evidence, however, that Vestas has come right again, and will be able to take a prominent part in the classics.
