When the Net o Zealand Mines Trust took over the attorneyship Mr . Forde continued under its banner to help keep the Waihi Company on the map. About 190# he accepted the position of accountant to the T V aitekauri Gold Mining Company, a firm that at one time gave indication of rivalling Wailii in wealth. The lure of the city and bigger business proved too strong, however, and 1908 saw him established in Auckland as a stock and sharebroker. Apart from the ordinary everyday business of the 'Change . Mr. Forde has assisted in the flotation of several large companies. Relaxation from the cares of business was sought by Mr. Forde in his earlier days in tennis and cricket.
