LIEUT. FREWEN’S FLIGHT WAITING FOR FINE WEATHER V"0 official information fas been received in Auckland regarding Lieutenant Frewen's proposed departure on his trans-Tasman flight. This, it is stated, will depend entirely on meteorological conditions, and until the weather is beyond doubt, the flight will not be commenced. Lieutenant Frewen will leave from Kempsey, New South Wales, and the latest arrangements are that stops will be made at Lord Howe Island and at Norfolk Island. The distance to Lord Howe Island is about 340 miles and from there to Norfolk Island about 490 miles After leaving Norfolk Island and before reaching the North Cape the airman will cover about 420 miles, leaving a final distance of 170 miles to be flown before Auckland ie reached. The total distance along the route mapped out is 1,420 miles. Petrol supplies have been placed at Lord Howe Island and at Norfolk Island and all arrangements have been completed for a landing place at ManMr a.
