TAUMARUNUI RUGBY

MATCH WITH PONSONBY Mr. W. Johns presided over a good attendance of members at a meeting of the Taumarunui Rugby Sub-Union. Mr. H. Simpson was appointed to make arrangements for the meeting of the Otorohanga and Taumarunui Juniors at Taumarunui on Saturday. Manunui, 14 points, and High School, 12 points, in the third grade competition, will play a curtain-raiser to the junior match. Mr. G. Stronach was appointed manager of the senior team to visit Otorohanga on Saturday. Arrangements for entertaining the Ponsonby team, which is to play Taumarunui on Wednesday, the 28th inst., were left in the hands of the chairman and secretary. Mr. R. Hawke was nominated as referee for the match. A schools curtain-raiser will be played, and the Rev. Father Duffy is arranging for a match between “The Midgets” and “The Mighty Atoms/’ an event which proved very popular recently.
