TAKANINI OLD GIRLS’ BASKETBALL DANCE

A very enjoyable dance was held by the Takanini Old Girls’ Basketball Club in the Takanini Parish Hall on Saturday evening, when a large number of friends and supporters of the club attended. The hall had been very daintily decorated with the club’s colours, green and black streamers turning in all directions from a large green dome in the centre of the hall. The club’s banner was prominently displayed, surmounted by their popular mascot. A pleasing musical programme was contributed by Miss Lily Grant and Mr. Hassey, of Papakura. Several enjoyable extras were played by Miss Morris. A dainty supper was supplied by members of the club, assisted by friends. During the evening Mrs. Brown and partner won the Monte Carlo waltz, and Miss Quelch and a partner captured the spot waltz prize. Mr. L. Mclntosh acted as M.C.
