Mrs. Sefton and Miss N. Seftou, and a committee consisting of Messrs. Deck, Parker, Waites and Herbison, conducted a very successful dance at Okahukura in aid of the funds of the local hall. The building was crowded, and a happy time was spent by everyone. Mr. H. Ellingham provided the music, and extras were played by Miss M. Domet and Mr. W. Winterbottom. Mr. C. Parker officiated as M.C. Forty guests were present at a com-ing-of-age party at Kaitieke, given in honour of Miss Buzbidge by Mrs. Wilson. A most enjoyable time was spent, and the guest of the evening was the recipient of many practical felicitations. Mesdames Reardon and Edwards conducted a delightful social evening in the Taumarunui Parish Hall, there being a very large attendance. Mr. W. Fanthorpe was M.C., and the music was supplied by Mr. A. Reardon’s orchestra. The hidden number waltz was won by Miss Hughes and Mr. Logan. The same hostesses conducted a bridge and 500 evening at Mrs. Edwards’s residence, in aid of the Anglican Church funds. Mrs. Pearce and Mr. Keller compiled the highest bridge scores, and Mr. Naylor won the 500 competition. * * * There was a large number of guests present at a bridge party arranged by Mr. and Mrs. J. Miles, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. E. Edwards, Taumarunui. Mrs. D. Simmons and Mr. Melrose were the successful players in the bridge tourney. Mrs. Guthrie scored the most points for the hidden number.
