KENT-JOHNSTON—JACOB
A pretty wedding took place last week at St. Luke’s Church, Te Kuiti, when Jessie, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Le Grand Jacob, was married to Jack Bramley, second son of C. J. Kent-Johnston, of Otahuhu. The Ven. Archdeacon Cowie officiated at the ceremony, which was fully choral, the Wedding March being played by Mrs. Cochrane, of Te Kuiti. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a gown of shell pink crepe de chine with overdress of white georgette with silver lace trimmings. Her veil of embroidered tulle was held in place by a coronet of lilies of the valley and orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet. Miss Nora Wilson, of Kopuarahi, in apricot crepe de chine with silver lace and rose petals, and Miss Ethel Jacob, sister of the bride, in eau-de-nil green with silver lace and rose petals, acted as bridesmaids. Both carried shower bouquets to tone and wore caps of shot tulle with bandeaux of coloured flowers. Miss Elizabeth Kent, niece of the bridegroom, made a charming .little flower girl, and wore a pretty little dress of lavender crepe de chine with tulle and pearl head-dress. She carried a small Victorian posy of primroses. Mr. Alan Voyce, of Auckland, acted as best man, and Mr. Jack Jacob as groomsman. The church was most tastefully decorated for the occasion by the friends of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs. Jacob, mother of the bride, wore a frock of blue and fawn crepe de chine, black hat and a bouquet of old gold. Mrs. Fred Kent-Johnston, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, wore a frock of black and powder blue crepe de chine, with a black picture hat with touches of blue. The reception was held at the house of the bride’s parents. Following the customary honouring of toasts the guests adjourned to the Parish Hall, where a dance was held.
