ASSOCIATESHIP IN COMMERCE VALUELESS
ABOLITION PROPOSED There is a probability that the associateship in commerce at Auckland University College will be abolished. At a meeting of the University Council yesterday the Director of the School of Commerce wrote suggesting that the assoclateship should be abolished on the grounds that the requirements were below those that a university should cater for; that the course is already covered by professional examinations in accountancy; that the certificate is of no professional or academic value, and last, that few, if any candidates offered for examination. The question was referred to the professorial board.
