TRIBUTE TO MINISTER

(From Our Own Correspondent) WELLINGTON, Monday. It is In accordance with the wish of the people of the Cook Islands and Niue Island that the new motor-ship will be named Maul Pomare. It is expected that it will arrive in New Zealand next February. It will trade between New Zealand, Niue and Samoa, and it is expected that the ship will make about ten voyages a year. The discharging and loading ports in New Zealand will be Wellington, Lyttelton and Auckland, and it Is probable that the ship will make Well ington the first port of call from the Islands and Auckland the port of departure. Captain A. R. Cant, late of the Hinemoa, left for England last montn to take command of the Maui Pomare.
