MOST BOWLING MATCHES POSTPONED
ROCKY NOOK TOURNEY Most of Saturday’s bowling matches were postponed on account of the weather. The open tournament which was to have been commenced on the Dominion Road Bowling Club’s gree l on Saturday ard concluded next Saturday has been abandoned. The final of the open tournament of the Rocky Nook Bowling Club was played on Friday afternoon, between teams skipped by J. Bouskill and H. Jenkin, which had gone through without a loss and tied for first position* A feature of the match was the fin' driving and drawing of the No. .1 players of both r:.nks. Play was even until the 16th head, when Jenkins’s team secured a five and maintained thi lead until the end. ROTORUA CLUB A meeting of the Rotorua Bowling Club Committee was held last week, Mr. A. V. Merriman presiding. The secretary reported that he had already received 12 entries for the annual tournament. He read a letter which he had written in reply intimating that no entries could be accepted until posters had been issued, probably in October. It was decided that the season he opened on Saturday. October 15. A - rangements were made for the entertainment of the club’s guests on the openfr g day. It was decided that two tournaments be held in February, and that February 6 and 20. 1928, be applied for to the «outh Auckland Centro for the Rotorua tourne.Messrs. Butt, Nesbitt and Tapper were appointed the match committee. Messrs. A. French, S. Brooker and W. T. Pakcs were appointed to control Wednesday games. Messrs. M. Manson, H. Foggin and J. \v. Webber were appointed the handicap committee.
