Duwen (11.15 The Antinous sails from Auckland toreceived by cablegram states that the White Star liner Corinthic sailed from Off Cape Leeuwin a sudden storm arose, and for 12 hours the vessel was lying hove to while the deck cargo was secured. Drums of oil were carried on deck, and these broke loose; at the height of the storm. Three of the cadets were caught by waves and thrown against the rail, but they suffered only minor injuries. The steam pipe casting on the deck was twisted by the waves. There are 39 cadets on the Woodarra, all of whom are completing a course of four years, at the end of which they will sit for their certificates as second officers.
