SALE OF WORK

OTAHUHU PRESBYTERIANS A very succesful fair and sale of work was held in St. Andrew’s Hall yesterday, for the purpose of raising funds for the Otahuhu Presbyterian Church. The stalls, which were erected round the hall, were temptingly decked with many useful and ornamental articles suitable for the home. Those in charge of the various stalls were:—Lollie stall, Mrs. Paine and Miss Gardiner; fancy stall, Mesdames O’Hara, Pinkey, Cook and Miss Wingate; cake stall, Mrs. McNeary and Miss Moffat; produce stall, Mrs. Watkins and Mrs. West; afternoon tearooms, Mrs. Moffitt and Miss Kelly. During the evening session competitions and games were the diversions and caused merriment among the competitors and onlookers. Exhibitions of fancy dancing were also given by Misses Reeves, Lee, Z. Morgan, McGehan and D. Morgan, pupils of Miss O’Leary, to appropriate music by Miss Moffat and Messrs. Mollar and M. Seel. The following were among the dances given:—“Golly Wog,” “Hula,” “Chari - ston,” “Dutch,” “Hornpipe,” “Sean Triubhais,” and “Irish Jig.”
