LITTLE THEATRE’S SIMPLE SCENERY MAKES FOR SUCCESS
The effect of simple scenery is admirably illustrated in the present production by the Auckland Little Theatre Society at the concert chamber.
No elaborate setting is required for “Pan in Pimlico.” The drab
grey walls of a London street are suggested with beautiful simplicity.
A few curtains and some humble furniture are all that is required for “The Old Lady Shows Her Medals.” Here again simplicity spells success.
A dedraggled backcloth and a few chairs complete the setting for
“Rehearsal.” There is no cluttering of stage furniture and no useless trappings. Mr. Kenneth Brampton, the producer, has scored another success with this, the seventh production of the society. The season, unfortunately, will conclude this evening. Perhaps, at a later date, the society will continue its season for at least another performance.
