“THE CAVE MAN” The chief picture attraction at the Empire Theatre is “The Cave Man," which is a merry comedy-drama., with a brilliant cast, perfectly directed. It is the film version of the popular Gilette Burgess story, and has as its stars Matt Moore and Marie Prevost. Miss Prevost plays Myra Gaylord, a beautiful and bored society girl in search of a, thrill. Matt Moore, as Mike Smagg, a coalheaver, provides the thrill when she Marie Prevost begins to train him for a social career. He becomes a social lion in spite of his crude ways, which are attributable to his eccentricity, and Myra realises that she has fallen in love with him. When he is turned down by a rich young flapper, he turns back to his old friends, who taunt him to fury. It is then he realises it is Myra he loves and he comes back to tell her she has ruined his life and to marry her. John Patrick, Myrna Loy, Phyllis Haver ant Hedda Hopper are included in the cast. “The Taxi Dancer,” featuring Joan Crawford, known as the “dance queen of screenland,” will also be screened to-night at the Empire.
