NATIONAL BEATS “THE SUN" A Rugby match between teams representing The Sun and the National Bank was i laved at the Domain on Thursday afternoon, and was won by thfl National Bank after a dose game. An earlier match had been drawn. ?! all, but on Thursday the Bunk had slightly the better of the proceedings, and deserved its win. In tha first half Metcalfe just missed with a very fine effort to goal from a mark. There wa=s no score at half-time. In the second half Lovie, who wa.«i playing a fine game for National, had a shot from a mark, the ball striking the outside of the post. Subsequently he scored the only try of the match, after » clever passing movement, the kick at goai failing. The Sun attacked for the rest of the game, but could nor. break the defence. Hopkins, Lovie and McCoy were prominent among the National Bank:, and in the forwards Ross stood out: Harris, at centre, played particularly well for The Sun, and in the forwards Ryan.
